报告摘要:Topological semimetals (including Dirac/Weyl semimetals and line-node semimetals), as opposed to topological insulators, exhibit exotic phenomena both in their bulk and on their surfaces. In this talk, I will first give a brief introduction to Weyl and line-node semimetals. Then I will present our recent work on line-node semimetals. We found a new type of line-node semimetal, dubbed hybrid line-node semimetals, which is distinct from the existing type-I and type-II line-node semimetals. We performed a systematic study on the circularly polarized light-induced Floquet states in different types of line-node semimetals. We illustrate that two distinct types of Floquet WSM states can be induced in periodically driven line-node semimetals by tuning the direction and the intensity of the incident light.

报告人简介:许东辉,湖北大学物理系副教授,2012年毕业于浙江大学获博士学位,2012-2016年在浙江大学物理系、香港科技大学物理系从事博士后研究工作,2016年加入湖北大学物理与电子科学学院,入选湖北省楚天学者计划。从事凝聚态物理理论研究,主要研究方向为:拓扑物态、非传统超导体和关联电子系统,现为Physical Review Letters, Physical Review B期刊审稿人。主持国家自然科学基金和湖北省教育厅基金各一项。在美国物理学会Physical Review A/B期刊上发表研究论文20余篇。
